Marcia's Second Time Around, Inc. has been in business for 14 years. We buy and sell quality used furniture and household items. If you are selling furniture to us we ask you to describe what you have in terms of what it is, the age, the condition, and how much you are asking for the items. If it sounds like something we can use and the price is in our range, you can either bring it in or schedule an appointment to have us come to you if you have enough items for us to justify the trip to you. If you are looking to buy items, we have 7700 square feet of rotating furniture for every room of the house. It is fun to stop in once a week if you do not find it the first time. You would be amazed how quickly it changes, and the bargains you will find. You can also check out the inventory pictures in our website, which we update weekly. They are not a complete inventory however, so a trip to 5928 S. 27th Street is always the best solution.
What drives us We love the used furniture business. People can find things they cannot get anywhere else. Many items are one of a kind. That makes our business fun. We are not high pressure sales people and believe that people should enjoy their experience, not feel like they are being sold something. We offer delivery service as well.
People Marcia's Second Time Around, Inc. was started by Mark Roeker and Eric Sobush in 1994. Mark started out as a graduate of Marquette University as an electrical engineer. He was shocked that it was difficult to furnish his own house without going in to debt working full time as an engineer. Eric worked in the printing industry as a lithographic stripper, which due to the advent of the computer age to that industry, his chosen career had been eliminated. Friends of theirs had a used furniture store in Delavan, Wisconsin and agreed to guide the two in their new endeavor, to provide quality used furniture at 1/3 the cost of new. It had all the makings of a new venture, and dive in they did! The friends that guided them have since passed away, but Mark's niece has since reopened their store concept as Sarah's New and Used Furniture on E. Racine Drive, Janesville, Wisconsin. Company Marcia's Second Time Around, Inc. started in a small store in West Allis at 81st and National. Within a year they expanded to 77th and National. Within 16 months they expanded again to 68th and National. They did not own the building and unfortunately were forced out of that location in September 2001. Seeing the writing on the wall, they had anticipated this event and opened a store where they are currently at 5928 S. 27th Street where they have been since April of 2000.
